Scottish band who meld exalted raucous soul gospel hip-hop return with their first album in five years on Ninja Tune. They play 3Olympia Theatre on Wednesday 1st March 2023. ‘I Saw’.
M(h)aol – Attachment Styles
The intersectional feminist post-punk band with members based in Dublin, Brighton and London release their debut album via TULLE Collective.
The Go! Team – Get Up Sequences Part Two
Kaleidoscopic seventh album from the UK indie band draws influence from Benin, Japan, France, India, Texas and Detroit. ‘The Me Frequency feat The Star Feminine Band’
Somebody’s Child – Somebody’s Child
Dublin indie pop artist Cian Godfrey’s debut album on French Kiss Records. Irish dates this February and March include Galway, Limerick, Belfast, Cork, Dublin and Dundalk. ‘I Need Ya’
The Waeve – The Waeve
Blur’s Graham Coxon and Rose Elinor Dougall’s new band. ‘Kill Me Again’
Hazey Haze – Milk & Honey
14-track Bandcamp only release (for now) from the Limerick rapper with production by Danny Latham.
The Men – New York City
Ninth studio album from the scuzz rock band inspired by their time in New York during lockdown. “When everyone left NYC, the sewer opened and we crawled out.” ‘Hard Livin’
John Frusciante – I / I I
I and II are the twelfth and thirteenth studio albums by RHCP guitarist John Frusciante. Both albums are electronic-based with I, a vinyl-only release containing seven tracks, while II is a digital/CD release featuring more material. ‘Golphin’
HiFi Sean & David McAlmont – Happy Ending
A psychedelic electronic soul soundtrack written and recorded at the top of an East London tower block and mixed in a beach house on the south coast. Half the album is accompanied by an eighty-piece Bollywood orchestra recorded at a film studio in Bangalore India. ‘Beautiful’
Soft on Crime – New Suite
Dublin three-piece garage power-pop band takes in 12 songs in 26 minutes. Bandcamp.
Various Artists – 7 Years Of Shall Not Fade
18-track compilation of the UK label’s electronic output. Bandcamp.
Raye – My 21st Century Blues
UK pop artist was held down by the major label system but scored a number 1 hit with ‘Escapism’.
Tropical Fuck Storm – Submersive Behaviour
Australian art-punk band’s covers record of Jimi Hendrix, Middle Aged in the Middle East in the Middle Ages, The Stooges and more.
Defected presents House Masters – Harry Romero
Defected have compiled tracks from the Jersey house producer Harry Romero’s career featuring old favourites and driving re-edits of the producer’s solo releases in addition to collaborations with prolific house vocalists such as Inaya Day and Jocelyn Brown. Bandcamp.
Robert Forster – The Candle And The Flame
Australian singer-songwriter releases his eighth solo album The Candle And The Flame. ‘Tender Years’.
EP & 12″ Releases
Fred Again – Actual Life 3 Piano EP (January 1 – September 9 2022)
Five-song piano versions of recent album.
BoNS – UPSIDE/DOWNSIDE two
Irish electronic producer Glenn Keating follows up Rounds with a two-track release. Bandcamp.
Woozy – Match My Sway
Irish producer EMA’s Woozy label with a Dubstep-influenced electronics meet spoken word release from New York-via-Berlin based Belarus/Ukraine duo on the continued struggle of oppressed nations’ fight for liberation. All artist profits going towards the Kyiv Angels and Repair Together charities in Ukraine. Bandcamp.
Moving Still – Moving Still Edits
Moving Still drops a 12″ of ’90s Kuwaiti edits on Monday.
