With the fact that only 28% of the voices on Irish radio are women, Dublin Digital Radio are aiming to highlight that fact on International Women’s Day, tomorrow on March 8th with a full-day of women-only radio. The 24 hours of broadcast is also in support of Strike 4 Repeal, which is asking for people to strike in solidarity with women who have to travel abroad to seek abortion services and the campaign is calling for the repeal of the 8th Amendment. The day of action is inspired by Polish women who in October went on strike to protect their access to abortion, and won.
Dublin Digital Radio’s 24 hour broadcast of women-only voices begins at midnight with DJ Dandelion, Aoife Nic Canna and features throughout the day: Dj Bambina, Sissy, Eve, Cait, Aisling O’Riordain, Kate Butler, Lolz and more.
