Cork! Galway! Saul is coming to your town tonight and tomorrow night. Don’t miss. A review of last night’s show will be up on State in a bit.

This week is a non-stop gig gauntlet. Tonight, I will see Duchess Says in the Sugar Club and Yeasayer in Whelans, tomorrow night, The National in the Olympia and Thursday, the big U:Mack show – Battles, The Rednecks and Chromehoof before I fly to Barcelona for the weekend.

You’re going to The National? Have you had a Road to Damascus style conversion or is it a freebies situation? :)[/quote]

Merely curiosity Sinéad! ….. and freebies.

What’s the story with the “friendly” automated Web Sheriff message on your blog? Like a tax collector coming into your house to see how you’ve been.

  2. I know, the Web Sheriff thing is a funny one, and it was so specific about the gig and PIAS (who I deal with a lot). They’re a bona fide organisation as far as I can see.

  3. Great few nights ahead alright- nearly same as you with Yeasayer, The National and Battles. Looking forward to them all but after 3 the last few nights as well I am looking forward to a quiet weekend…well except for Halves…and just maybe Animal Collective on Monday!

  4. did anyone go the the Hold Steady last night? They played a few new songs….they sounded pretty good, even if they were very similar in style to the old stuff.

Re Saul gig, did anyone cop the guy at the bar snoring very loudly during Saul’s final spoken workd piece? It was surreal, he was seemed intent on distracting everyone, and succeded with quite a few people.

  5. Missed DL vs SC, Yeasayer, Hold Steady, Saul Williams, and will not get to The National or Battles. In a Nialler9 Ladytron vs Large Mound mash-up: My Whole Life Is Pants 🙁

  6. Went to The National last night. A little bit of a disappointment, seemed very flat and only really got the energy going in a stop-start manner. Beringer kept walking off stage momentarily during slightly long pauses between songs. They’ll probably be better tonight and tomorrow.

…And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead for me on Thursday night. I’m not quite ready to occlude the memory of Battles at Primavera at 2am last year just yet 😉
