RTÉ Concert Orchestra & members of David Bowie’s band to perform his music at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre
It will be over eight years since David Bowie passed away in 2024, and to celebrate his legacy in music, the RTÉ Concert Orchestra will perform his music at a special concert next year.

Very few artists in the history of popular music have left such an indelible mark as David Bowie at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre. on February 9th 2024.
The event part of the annual Dublin Bowie Festival programme of events. The gig is presented by Singular Artists and adapted from the 2021 recording for RTÉ One television, Bowie: Starman — with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra.
Guitarist Gerry Leonard is the Musical Director of this show. In addition to Bowie, the Dublin native has played with people like Rufus Wainwright, Laurie Anderson and Suzanne Vega, who he tours with regularly.
Mark Plati has played guitar with all-time rock ’n’ roll greats like Lou Reed, The Cure, Fleetwood Mac and Robbie Williams.
Drummer Sterling Campbell has worked with the B52s, Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet and Cyndi Lauper.
A remarkable line up of Irish and international artists, yet to be announced, will complete this once in a lifetime performance not to be missed.
It will feature specially commissioned arrangements of classics like Life on Mars, Heroes, Starman, Changes and Space Oddity as orchestra and artists combine to salute one of the most imaginative, influential and iconic musicians of our times.
