The London band, featuring Biig Piig, play Bello Bar with Bulbs before making their first ever festival appearance at Other Voices Derry this September.
Salmon Cat are stepping outside London for the first time, playing their first Dublin show at Bello Bar with Bulbs on Thursday September 24th, before heading north for their first ever festival slot at Other Voices Derry, the same weekend.
The band started as a joke in 2016, when school friends Alfie and Mac wrote a fake Mac DeMarco song inspired by Liam Lynch, before close friend Jess Smyth (Biig Piig) came over, added vocals, and unknowingly turned it into the band’s first proper track, ‘Trip To Dusseldorf’. They didn’t play their first live show until 2024, building a cult following in the meantime through sporadic releases and a resolutely unconventional online presence, picking up praise along the way from Clairo and members of Gorillaz.
The lineup includes Mac Wetha on production and vocals, Biig Piig on vocals, and NiNE8 Collective regulars Alfie Jackson and Harry Hayman on guitar and songwriting.
