Sam Fender has added two outdoor shows next summer that come after his two sold out stadium shows in Newcastle’s St. James’ Park.
The Irish dates announced are
Ormeau Park, Belfast on Friday 23rd June 2023
Malahide Castle, Dublin on Sunday 25th June 2023
Tickets for Dublin are priced €50.35 inclusive and go on sale from 10am on Friday 21st October via www.ticketmaster.ie and www.samfender.com. Subject to licence.
Sam Fender last played in Dublin at the 3Arena, and this summer played to a big crowd at the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury and sold out a 45,000 capacity show at London’s Finsbury Park, building on the success of his second album Seventeen Going Under.
The North Shields artist this month announced a mental health break which resulted in some cancelled shows.
“It seems completely hypocritical of me to advocate discussion on mental health and write songs about it if I don’t take the time to look after my own mental health. I’ve neglected myself for over a year now and haven’t dealt with things that have deeply affected me. It is impossible to do this work on myself while on the road and it’s exhausting feigning happiness and wellness for the sake of the business.”
“My friends and colleagues have been worried about me for a while and it’s not going to get better unless I take the time to do so.”
Sam Fender Live 2023:
9th June – St. James’ Park, Newcastle SOLD OUT
10th June – St. James’ Park, Newcastle SOLD OUT
23rd June – Ormeau Park, Belfast *New Date*
25th June – Malahide Castle, Dublin *New Date*
