Sigur Ros – ‘Ekki múkk’
A serene blast of melancholic resplendence courtesy of everyone’s favourite instrumental Icelanders (Jonsi’s voice is an instrument really). It’s easy to be cynical about Sigur Ros. Their ever-present reach for celestial heavenly sounds can be easy to disregard but it’s hard not to be drawn by its beauty.
‘Ekki múkk’ is taken from the band’s first new album proper since 2008. It’s entitled Valtari, features the seven tracks outlined below and is out on May 28th on XL. Sigur Ros are playing Electric Picnic and Berlin Music Festival, Bestival amongst others.
