As we roll on into May the giant that is Primavera Sound festival fast approaches.
One aspect of the festival, among many, that we really like is Primavera Pro, a subset of the main festival that showcases hotly tipped acts from individual countries to international industry representatives.
In coordination with Music From Ireland, 5 Irish acts will once again be hosted at this year’s festival.
Today it’s been announced that those five acts are Thumper, Kojaque, Wyvern Lingo, A.Smyth & Laoise.
It’s interesting to see the diversity of genre and style picked for this year’s showcase. Thumper hold down the rock vibes with Irish hip-hop and pop music also getting a look in. It’s a shame there’s not an electronic or dance group on the lineup, as the sound is easily among the nation’s most vibrant genres, but with only 5 slots available not everyone could be catered for.
Primavera Sound will take place in Barcelona From May 30th – June 1st. Tickets, at €215+, are on sale now here.
