10. Marika Hackman – ‘Drown’
It is useful to think of Hackman as the feminine counterpoint to Alt-J (she’s recently been supporting the band, shares a producer in Charlie Andrew and features on All Of This Is Yours). In her music, you can hear the same sort of sounds: guitars, folk melodies, ambling rhythms and sweetness. ‘Drown’is the first song from her February-due debut album of all new songs We Slept At Last.
