The Busk is the annual Grafton Street Christmas Eve Busk featuring prominent Irish musicians that draws a big crowd to the Dublin city street to sing and raise funds for the Dublin Simon Community.

After facing a second year of no in-person event due to COVID last year, a team, lead by director Mark Logan, rallied around and made a special livestreamed event on Christmas Eve last year, which you can watch in full:

Now, a special vinyl record featuring recordings from that stream, that featured Bono, Damien Rice, Glen Hansard, Lisa O’Neill, Adam Mohammed and Rónan O’Snodaigh among them.

The vinyl compilation will give all proceeds to Dublin Simon Community, and help them address the rising criss of homelessness.

Speaking about “The Busk” and reflecting on the partnership with Dublin Simon Community over the last two years, Collective Films’ Mark Logan said:

“Ever since we first partnered with Dublin Simon two years ago I’ve been consistently amazed by the magic that can happen when a group of talented people are united by passion for a vital cause.

“We’ve achieved unbelievable things together, from remastering a Phil Lynott classic to pulling off a once-in-a-lifetime performance from artists far and wide in 12 days and under Covid-19 restrictions. We are driven to keep supporting Dublin Simon every time we pass a person in hardship on the street or hear horror stories of people being evicted from their homes.”
