The Joinery are looking for your funding
As one of the only remaining not-for-profit DIY art spaces left in the city, The Joinery in Stoneybatter is an anomaly and they would like to keep it that way. The space has provided a platform for experimental musicians, artists, curators and exhibitions since it opened in 2008. It’s tough times for any art space, not least a non-profit self-sufficient one, with funding cuts brought about by external forces.
So, if you value what The Joinery does they are asking for your donations via Fundit. They are looking to raise a lot. The €16,000 goal, if reached will ensure the place remains indepedent as a space and ensure the programming will in their words “enact our most challenging and engaging programme to date,” with “an emphasis on event-based works including performances, screenings, exhibitions, talks and new music.”
Upcoming events there include a sold-out Angel Olsen show, a launch of Ian Maleney’s new Fallow Records label, a night of improvised electronics with Niamh De Barra and Wolfbait,
