Four-piece acoustic metal-trad leaning band The Scratch have announced a Dublin show at The Academy on Saturday March 04th.
The Scratch who, are known for their live shows which comes across like a rowdy session, complete with Irish dancing and rock guitar histrionics, say that The Academy show, will initially postponed due to the pandemic, and superseded by a triumphant Olympia show, is a way of the band getting together some funds for a US tour also.
“Our first trip to the USA and Canada is only a few weeks out. We’ve been holed up in the studio these past few weeks putting the finishing touches on our next record and thought why not blow off some cobwebs before we head away.
In many ways, this show was the one that got away. Constant rescheduling and eventually a full cancellation due to the pandemic meant this show never actually happened. So here we are, better late than never!
In truth, this is also a chance for us to raise some money. The costs involved in touring these parts of the world is gigantic and as a currently independent band, these costs fall directly on us. Anyone who buys a ticket to this show will be directly supporting that cause.”
The band are offering presale on their Patreon, and general public sale will be Friday at 10am.
