Video Premiere: Chris Wong – ‘Been Here For Days’
Dublin artist Chris Wong follows up his debut single ‘Talents’ last year with the lilting laid-back song ‘Been Here For Days’ this week.
Wong has played festivals like Forbidden Fruit, All Together Now and Ireland Music Week, and is only on his second single to date, despited having sold out The Grand Social for a solo show.
The Irish-Hong Kongese 24-year-old is also a member of the band Papa Romeo, and one half of Frank Zing (alongside Rob de Boer);
Chris says, the lyrics of the song “personify entrapment and frustration”.
The music video, set in an 80’s style lakehouse, was co-directed by Aoife Leonard, was Big Style Media House also lent a hand, see credits below.
Speaking about his new single, Chris says:
“It’s a song that I had a sudden urge to write. Musically, I felt like I simply wasn’t being heard. I know this is something any artist can relate to. You feel like you’re putting 100% into it all but the returns can certainly feel low. At the time, a lot of frustration surrounded me and I suppose this was my response to dealing with it.”
Wong will release an EP this summer, and has a unique EP launch in Dublin on Sunday 16th of April:
The event is called ‘And Breathe’ and combines breathwork and music for an enhanced musical experience for both the artist and attendee. The event will be hosted at Aerial Cirque (10 Exchequer Street). Chris will be playing original songs at this event including the new release.
