TUESDAY JULY 4TH:
Future Islands @ Cork Opera House (7pm, SOLD OUT)
From playing to nobody upstairs in Whelan’s in 2009 to filling-up the Opera House: the internet’s favourite band does a victory lap of Ireland, and stops in Cork along the way.
WEDNESDAY JULY 5TH:
Babylon Fusion @ The Sextant (5pm, free)
Bites, booze and beats in one place for Babylon Fusion. The Sextant’s Peter Davis on cocktails, Seamus O’Connell of the Ivory Tower on bites, and DJ Jive al-Mestizo on the decks.
THURSDAY JULY 6TH:
Shape Note Singing Workshop @ The Unitarian (7pm, donations)
Beginner’s workshop with Cork Shape Note Singers, taking the religious hymns of 18th Century America and recasting them in a secular context. A favourite among local musicians and creatives.
Quangodelic @ The Sextant (9pm, free)
Twenty-eight-legged funk/progressive collective takes to (in and around) the Sextant for their monthly jag in the quayside venue.
GOOD Music @ Cyprus Avenue (11pm, €5)
Stevie G and GOOD Music residents provide an eclectic array of summer jams, with special guest Gadget and the Cloud joining them behind the decks.
FRIDAY JULY 7TH:
SoundEye Festival @ various venues (all day, various)
The 21st and final instalment of Cork’s annual avant-garde festival kicks off for the weekend, including Couscous, Nat Raha and Maggie O’Sullivan. Check the link above for venue and time breakdown.
Tiz McNamara @ Coughlan’s (9pm, €10)
Cork-based singer-songwriter continues a string of local shows ahead national and Canadian touring later in the year.
Techno Fridays @ Cyprus Avenue (11pm, €5)
A big night of local techno upstairs in the Caroline Street venue. Flexure (Jamie Behan/Stephen Mahoney), Ryan Morrison and James O’Carroll on the lineup.
SATURDAY JULY 8TH:
SoundEye Festival @ various venues (all day, various)

Live Worth Living @ The Crane Lane Theatre (8pm, €15)
Showcase gig with all proceeds going to the Samaritans organised by local group Fight Against Suicide. Lineup: Kiran Chopra, Emma Cotter, The Vercettis and Christiana Underwood.
SUNDAY JULY 9TH:

Songwriters in the Round @ An Spailpín Fánach (6pm, €5)
Three guest songwriters perform their songs acoustically for Cork Penny Dinners, sharing some stories and inspiration behind them. July’s event will feature Mellany Morales, Jamie McDonald and Sinéad Murphy.
