Bantum marks a new beginning with the French Touch-inspired 'New Leaf'

The Cork producer Ruairi Lynch aka Bantum has announced a new EP to be released on May 25th which is today preceded by a new song ‘New Leaf’.

‘New Leaf’ is built on a rubbery bassline and shimmering key notes and builds upon the producer’s excellent rep with recent tunes ‘Gully’, ‘Tower’ and ‘NGLA’ with close collaborator Loah.

It has French Touch-inspirations of Stardust, Cassius along with Royksopp, Daft Punk, Jungle and Four Tet.

I had this constant image in my mind of going back to a club or a party while writing the record. It’s funny that these are arguably the most danceable and upbeat tracks I’ve written when there’s nowhere to go yet to let loose! It’s been cathartic to produce this record and I can’t wait to play it live someday. The title is a direct reference to how I feel about this, like I’m turning a new leaf sonically” .

Bantum promises more music in the coming year.
