SOAK curates SETS at Guinness Storehouse with Rua Rí and a Gilla Band DJ set

The fourth and last night of the Guinness Storehouse series takes place on Friday September 11th.

SETS at the Guinness Storehouse’s Gravity Bar closes out its first summer with SOAK headlining and curating the final night in Dublin 8 on Friday September 11th.

The series began in June with a sold-out show from Romy of The xx, and continued with Orla Gartland in July and Gorgon City in August, both of which also sold out.

SOAK returned in June with ‘death valley fridge magnet’, their first solo music in over four years, and the start of a new chapter on Rough Trade. It followed the 2024 collaboration with Fred again.. on ‘just stand there’, a song that has since passed 25 million plays.

Bridie Monds-Watson talked me through all of that on the Nialler9 Podcast last month, from losing their voice to how the Fred song came together, ahead of their set at The Circle by Jameson Music at All Together Now.

SOAK has picked the rest of the bill for the night too. Opening up is Rua Rí, the Cobh singer-songwriter whose debut album Tell Your Mother I Saved Your Life arrived on Soft Boy Records in May. He wrote a track-by-track on it for us, and has just announced an Irish tour for the autumn.

Gilla Band bring the whole series to a close with a DJ set, taking the room past sunset. It lands a fortnight before Pugnello, their first album in four years, arrives on Rough Trade on Friday September 25th.

“I’m really excited to return to the Guinness Storehouse and share the stage with some of my favourite artists,” SOAK said. “Getting to curate the lineup for the final night of the series feels really special, it’s going to be the perfect way to close out the summer together!”
