I don’t think we can pretend to be too surprised that Alessia Cara won big with her debut US TV performance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, knowing that she is signed to Def Jam and her debut track ‘Here’ is built on a solid Isaac Hayes sample. Still, with only one track in the public domain and the announcement of an EP to come, there’s not much experience there.
