The Chemical Brothers – Dig Your Own Hole [1997] (Vinyl Listening Party) @ The Big Romance (7pm)
Revisiting a classic ’90s dance album played on vinyl in full with guest Mango in a discussion about the duo and their records. Nialler9 and The Big Romance present the Listen Closely series of listening parties, a night featuring a focus album from an artist we love on the last Wednesday of the month. ‘Block Rockin’ Beats’, ‘Electrobank’, ‘Setting Sun’ and the euphoric closer ‘Private Psychedelic Reel'” Dig Your Own Hole balances dancefloor power with adventurous studio experimentation.

A series of conversations, music and performance at Hen’s Teeth. Hosts Laura Twagirayezu (aka Big Cheeks) or Sally Cinnamon to talk through six tracks – the songs that have shaped their sound, their life, the way they hear the world and how it impacted their craft, followed by a live performance into the evening. Think Tiny Desk meets Desert Island Discs.

Intimate vinyl session in the newly upgraded cafe and events space at Small Changes. Expect deep house and electro cuts.

The Leon Stax Equation @ Whelan’s 
Galway band playing soul music and layers in jazz, funk, rock and psychedelia play a Whelan’s residency. On the last Thursday of every month, they will be playing the main stage with special guest acts and DJ sets upstairs. They just released a new album In View.

Vexxodus, Beddyminaj, Crutch and many more @ The Sound House
Volume are hosting a memorial event for beloved late friend and cofounder Leo, a key figure of the Irish hiphop scene and he influenced many with his unique take on the underground hiphop sound. He excelled at production and vocals alike and thrived in live performance settings.

Vsevolod Plotkin X Using Washroom, Clitoris, Gynophobia @ Kirkos
Fraternal noise freakout duo performance between local freaks Vsevolod Plotkin and Calgary’s Using Washroom. Support comes from Drogheda noise duo Clitoris and guitar hating maniac Gynophobia.

Clearwater Creedence Revival @ Opium
Clearwater Creedence Revival play Opium with support from Eric Bell – the former Thin Lizzy guitarist whose riff opened ‘Whiskey in the Jar’ – in support. A night of classic rock from two acts steeped in the era.

When Doves Cry: A Prince Film Night @ The Sugar Club
The Sugar Club presents a special double bill celebrating one of music’s most singular artists. When Doves Cry brings together two landmark Prince films on one night — Purple Rain (1984, 111 mins) and Sign of the Times (1987, 85 mins) — screened back to back with table service, cocktails, and pizza throughout, followed by a full club night when the credits roll.
