Applications are now open for the 2019 Girls Rock Dublin camp
Girls Rock Dublin is back.
The summer camp assembles a group of 20 female or non-binary teens, hoping to boost self-esteem and leadership skills through the medium of music. Everybody gets to write a tune too, always a good time. Niall wrote about it as part of the general trends in music in terms of gender initiatives.
The camp takes place between June 25th and 29th in the Sound Training College and the fee is €290 for five-days.
2019 will mark the third year in which the camp is run, providing a much-needed service and outlet for young females and non-binary individuals in what can be a very male-dominated industry. The camp reserves places for under-represented groups such as LGBTQ+, those living in direct provision, non-Irish nationals and people with disabilities, and scholarships are available for low-income households.
