Dublin-based four-piece BARQ have been establishing their own unique R&B and self-proclaimed “agrosoul” sound for over two years now.

This month they are releasing two new singles ‘Sassy Mouth’ and ‘Earthquakes’ which are being launched in Whelan’s this Saturday.

The first new release ‘Sassy Mouth’ is inspired by the Repeal The Eighth movement and is ‘a call to arms for the emerging voices that are searching for change.’ The track embodies a powerful essence, layered with energetic sonics, haunting harmonies and lyrical deliveries that cause for reflection.

‘Earthquakes’ is a “soulful reflection on the breakdown of relationships,
outlining how a platonic break-up can be just as painful as romantic disillusionment” which sees lead singer Jess Kav show off her empowering vocal abilities leaving an impact.

The double single launch takes place at Whelan’s this Saturday, March 24th. Tickets priced at €10 are available from Whelanslive.com.
