Best New Gigs: Caroline Rose, Flight Facilities, Cinthie, James Vincent McMorrow, Apartment Records 15th anniversary and more

Some recent gig announcements from the Irish live circuit.

Fidelity Studio hosts Cinthie, Berlin house DJ and producer on Friday September 18th. Her sets fuse New York swing, Chicago rawness and Berlin nocturnal energy. Discount code via Fidelity mailing list.

The Tallest Man on Earth plays the National Concert Hall, Dublin on Wednesday August 26th – presented by Foggy Notions and an Irish first for Kristian Matsson at this venue. Tickets via nch.ie and foggynotions.ie.

Flight Facilities play Centre Point, Dublin on Saturday August 29th. The Australian electronic duo’s euphoric, sample-flipping house music has been a festival staple for over a decade – a Dublin show in late August is a good way to close out the summer. Tickets

Rachel Chinouriri plays The Academy, Dublin on Saturday September 5th in celebration of the announcement of her new album I Think I Spoke Too Soon. The indie-pop singer-songwriter has been one of the more quietly impressive artists building a reputation over the past three years, and a headline Academy show suggests the next step is imminent. Tickets on sale now.

James Vincent McMorrow has announced two nights at Connolly’s of Leap, Co. Cork in September – the first night sold out so quickly that a second was added due to demand. The Friday September 4th date is now on sale. McMorrow writes that Connolly’s is where he came to rehearse and road-test new songs ahead of his third album ten years ago, staying during the day and playing shows at night – “one of the greatest weeks of my life.” He’s returning now to reconnect with old songs and start playing new ones he’s been working on. An intimate setting for a special run. Tickets for the September 4th show via venue.

Apartment Records mark their 15th anniversary with a special night at Bello Bar on Friday September 11th featuring exclusive live performances from Jo Johnson and BEING. Fifteen years as an independent Irish electronic music label is a genuine milestone – the imprint has been a consistent part of Ireland’s electronic landscape across that time. Tickets via RA.

David Thomas Broughton plays a Young Hearts Run Free show in Dublin on Wednesday September 9th. The Leeds-based songwriter – now living in Tokyo – hasn’t played in Ireland since 2019, and YHRF have secured him for what they describe as a genuinely special evening. He’ll be playing music from his forthcoming record Heavy Weather alongside older work. YHRF events are consistently low-key, high-warmth occasions and this one will be no different. Early bird tickets available now – it takes place in Cleary’s Pub.

Basht. have announced in-store events in Dublin, Limerick and Cork ahead of their debut album Poor Advice, out October 9th via LAB Records/Warner. Spindizzy Records, Dublin on Sunday October 4th; Limerick (October 6th); Cork (October 7th). The Belfast band’s debut is produced by Ali Chant. In-store details via Spindizzy and the band’s socials.

Caroline Rose and Gurriers both have events at Spindizzy Records, Dublin coming up. Caroline Rose has an in-store event confirmed – dates and details via spindizzyrecords.com. Gurriers have an outstore event with tickets on sale now via spindizzyrecords.com/collections/events.

Damien Dempsey headlines the Hideaway Session X Night and Day at Drumhierny Woodland Hideaway, Co. Leitrim on Saturday September 19th, a one-day outdoor event born out of a new collaboration between the Hideaway Sessions and Night and Day Festival. Tickets.

Poison Ruïn play Lost Lane, Dublin on Friday November 13th, presented by Foggy Notions in association with U:MACK, with special guests Special Branch. The Philadelphia punk band’s new album Hymns From the Hills pushes their grim mythmaking and scythe-swinging aggression into broader sonic territory – Killing Joke, Scott Walker, The Durutti Column, blast-beats – while losing none of the menace. Mixed by Jonah Falco (Fucked Up), mastered by Arthur Rizk (Power Trip). Tickets €23.50 including booking fee, on sale Thursday August 13th at 10am via foggynotions.ie.

Really Good Time have announced an Irish national tour for December 2026: Cleere’s Kilkenny (Friday December 4th), Button Factory Dublin (Saturday December 5th), plus Spirit Store – Dundalk (Sunday December 6th), Roisin Dubh Galway (Thursday December 10th) and Coughlan’s Cork (Sunday December 13th) Tickets on sale now via singularartists.ie and Ticketmaster.

Their album Affirmations just dropped, and conclusively affirms Really Good Time as a band who are aptly-named, their album fizzes with transmissible full pelt sonic energy that spills over these wry and genial rock songs.

Alasdair Roberts & Fredrik Rasten play The Cobblestone, Dublin on Friday February 19th 2027, presented by Enthusiastic Eunuch. The Scottish folk singer-songwriter and Norwegian guitarist have a collaboration album Seven Weathers out January 2027 on Drag City, built around microtonal guitar tunings and deeply rooted traditional song. One for the slower, more careful end of the calendar. Tickets.

Alex Zhang Hungtai (Dirty Beaches) plays Whelan’s Upstairs on Saturday February 27th 2027, presented by Enthusiastic Eunuch, with Mantua as support. Zhang Hungtai’s work – which has moved from lo-fi cassette-tape rock through ambient and noise – remains one of the most idiosyncratic bodies of work to have emerged from the post-blog era. Tickets.
