Some recent gig announcements from the Irish live circuit.
Glasshouse and tasteinyourmouth present Hysterically Shopping!…to some sort of end at the Samuel Beckett Theatre, Trinity College Dublin as part of Dublin Theatre Festival 2026 — and it opened last night, so there are just three performances left. A new pop opera composed by Aran O’Grady, it tells the story of a woman who falls in love with a self-service till, the twisted love triangle that follows when she goes to work at the supermarket, and the tragic consequences. An eight-piece live chamber ensemble, opera singers, a pop vocalist, a dancer and actor Ned Dennehy as the Janitor. Glasshouse, who have been doing immersive reimaginings of Björk, Sigur Rós, Joni Mitchell for a decade, are celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, and this is the most ambitious original commission yet. Remaining dates: Friday September 25th and Saturday September 26th at 7:30pm, Sunday September 27th at 4:30pm (Audio Described). Tickets €27-30 via dublintheatrefestival.ie. It then travels to Town Hall Theatre, Galway on Wednesday October 29th.

Subject x Tresor presents T35 – the 35th anniversary of Berlin’s techno institution Tresor – at Wigwam on Bank Holiday Sunday October 25th. Regis, back in Ireland for the first time since performing as British Murder Boys with Surgeon at Circles 2019; Fireground (live, Italian duo, Irish debut), new Tresor club residents with their Hi-Tek-Soul live sets; Daniel Bell aka DBX in an extended set, his first show in Ireland in 15 years; with [a-z], Aero, Ayolxi, Cailín, Giles Armstrong and Jon Hussey. José González plays Vicar Street, Dublin on Tuesday January 26th 2027. The Swedish singer-songwriter and Junip frontman has barely toured in years, making any show a rare event. ØXN plays Button Factory on Wednesday December 9th, presented by Enthusiastic Eunuch as part of Button Factory’s 30th anniversary programme. ØXN bring together Lankum’s experimental doom folk (Radie Peat), the motorik euphoria of Percolator (John ‘Spud’ Murphy’ & Eleanor Myler) and the spectral songwriting of Katie Kim, to create a sound which exists somewhere between the traditional, the future and the eternal.Special guest Ian Nyquist, the American experimental guitarist and composer, joins her on the night. Aaron Rowe has been confirmed as the headline act for the Countdown Concert at Dublin Castle on New Year’s Eve, as part of New Year’s Festival Dublin — his biggest stage yet and a remarkable step for the Dublin singer-songwriter who only this week announced a 3Olympia headline. The Scientist plays Whelan’s, Dublin on Tuesday February 16th 2027. The Jamaican dub producer and sound engineer is one of the architects of the form – his work at Channel One Studio in Kingston helped shape what dub became, and his live shows in an intimate room are worth a great deal of effort to attend. Giles Corey plays Grand Social, Dublin on Friday February 12th 2027, presented by Foggy Notions. Dan Barrett – who also records as one half of Have A Nice Life – performs almost never, and the Giles Corey project in particular has a devastatingly intense catalogue that demands a room’s full attention. Night Tempo plays Bello Bar, Dublin on Saturday February 27th 2027, presented by Foggy Notions. The Korean producer and DJ emerged from the “Future Funk” scene: an internet-born music genre that reconstructs 80’s Japanese pop into dance music. Tickets on sale now via foggynotions.ie.
Hudson Freeman plays Whelan’s, Dublin on Tuesday March 2nd 2027, presented by POD. The Brooklyn-based Lofi-Folk artist is inspired and forged by the DIY midwest and a touch of MJ Lenderman, and from the tune below sounds very nice. Lael Neale plays Bello Bar, Dublin on Wednesday March 3rd 2027, presented by Foggy Notions. The Virginian singer-songwriter records for Sub Pop and makes minimalist, quietly hypnotic music with an organ and her voice – she supported Angel Olsen on her last major tour and has been building a devoted following since her debut.
