Big Thief announce new album with the bright rhythmic ‘Time Escaping’
Big Thief this week announced their new album Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You will be out 11th February on 4AD.
It features the tracks they’ve released so far – ‘Change’, ‘Certainty’, ‘Little Things’, and ‘Sparrow’, and a new track ‘Time Escaping’.
‘Time Escaping’ is a beautiful song that employs a unique muted harmonic guitar pattern (using business cards to mute the strings) to provide a rollicking percussive base for Adrianne Lenker’s vocals.
The band are releasing a 20-track double LP after completing 45 songs over 5 months in studios in Upstate New York, Topanga Canyon, The Rocky Mountains, and Tucson, Arizona. More on the recording.
The album was produced by drummer James Krivchenia.
Big Thief are playing Dublin in February.
Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You will be available on standard black vinyl, recycled vinyl (indie record stores & 4AD/Big Thief webstore), green vinyl (Vinyl Me Please), CD and cassette tape.
All pre-orders of the album on the 4AD Store will be entered into a draw to win a signed DNWMIBIY screen print.
