Byron Wallen’s Boards Of Canada show announced for NCH gig
After his show at Beyond The Pale this year, British jazz trumpeter Byron Wallen and his eight-piece Ensemble will return to Ireland to perform their tribute to one of the greatest ambient electronic albums of all-time, Boards Of Canada’s Music Has The Right To Children.
The show, featuring a Gamelan Ensemble, a jazz ensemble and analogue synth players, will take place on Sunday September 25th at the National Concert Hall, courtesy of Selective Memory.
Sidestepping the ambient electronic tones of the original, Wallen’s version employs the Javanese gamelan orchestration,to reimagine the revered album from the enigmatic Scottish duo.
“An enthralling celebration of a very nuanced album… Hairs sprung up on the back of my neck, and the audience screamed with appreciation”
