Metallica and the Irish Blood Transfusion Service

Metallica and their foundation All Within My Hands have teamed up with the Irish and Northern Irish Blood Transfusion Services to run blood drives across the European leg of their M72 World Tour, including Ireland.

The band are encouraging fans and the general public to donate blood during the weeks around the Dublin shows. Summer is one of the most challenging periods for maintaining hospital blood supplies, and donations of all blood types are needed now. Each donation takes approximately an hour and a half for a first-time donor and has the potential to save up to three lives.

Sharon Ryan, Director of Donor Experience and Collections with the IBTS: “It’s a fantastic and unique way for us to get the message to people about how important it is to give blood. Summer can be a challenging time to meet the increasing blood needs of hospitals, and we hope this collaboration with Metallica fans increases everybody’s blood flows.”

To check eligibility, find a clinic and book an appointment:

Age policy
