
The always-solid Irish electronic label Alphabet Set is releasing the debut album Switching For A Living by Cignol with a launch gig taking place in Kennedys, Westland Row this Thursday night. Switching for a Living is an album of “astral-fitted electronica” which is filled with Orbital-esque, early ’90s acid squelch, lush instrumental passages, Plaid’s trademark atmospherics and Cignol’s own gift for melody and arrangement.
Sarsparilla & T-Woc will support on the night. Entry is €8 with a free album (see Facebook event). Switching For A Living is out on July 19th. Here’s the opening track:
