The 9th annual Community Skratch Games is happening in Bierhaus, Galway on the weekend of 4th and 5th April.
“Skratching in the pub. For two days.”
That’s the MO of the Community Skratch Games in which turntablists (are they still called that?) and DJs will perform alongside live musicians, rappers and beatmakers all weekend.
Lined up for the weekend are World champion DJ Chile, G.O.D.’s Jimmy Hatetan, “Galway skratch hero” Jimmy Penguin in new skratch project Wat Tyler’s Soundcard, Rusangano Family, Clerk 5 , Same D4ence, Clare DJ Daithi Curtin, Noid the Droid, Zinc, turntable veterans Naive Ted, Djackulate, Danny Deepo, Darcy, Symatic, Kutclass and Handsome Paddy.
The Community Skratch Games Open Freestyle Battle Royale is the big one. Ray Wingnut will be hosting the weekend. It all starts at 5pm each day and entry is free but donations are encouraged.
