St. Patrick’s Festival has announces its national programme from March 15th to 18th today.
Having previously announced Mother’s Cultúr Club with Saoirse headlining, names that have been announced today include:
Denise Chaila + Friends, Celaviedmai, Ispíní Na hÉireann, Louise Mulcahy, Faró Trad Session, The Deadlians, Trá Pháidín, Acid Granny, Mo Cultivation Live, Holly Munro, The Len Collective, Alfi, Tadhg, Jennie Moran, Múlú and more.
The theme of this year’s festival is ‘SPRÉACH’, or spark, and the festival presents a programme of arts and culture around the St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 17th and uses Collin’s Barracks’ National Museum of Ireland in Dublin as the Festival Quarter.
Collin’s Barracks hosts different areas An Halla Mór, a 3,000 capacity outdoor tented main stage area, (Main Stage), Goal Rí Rá Stage (Bandstand), Tigín (Snug), Ruaille Buaille Tent, Bia Mall – a new artisan food space, Súgradh games area and the Timpeall programme of walkabout entertainment.
FESTIVAL QUARTER SATURDAY 16TH
The Galway rapper presents Celaviedmai Presents: Who’s Next? is among the highlights on a day of free-in programming with Irish trad from Grooveline, Code of Behaviour and more, alongside Bollywood and Lapree Lala.
MOTHER AT FESTIVAL QUARTER SATURDAY 16TH – Saturday night
Cultúr Club happens at Festival Quarter in the National Museum of Ireland at Collins Barracks on Saturday 16th March 2024, Patrick’s Eve.
It features a night of “live music, queer performance and art in celebration of Irish LGBTQ+ club culture and the transformative power of the dancefloor.”
FESTIVAL QUARTER SUNDAY 17TH
Free in during the day, with Denise Chaila and friends headlining , a big Céilí Mór on the Main Stage with Dearbhla Lennon and music from Faró, Louise Mulcahy and Ispíní na hÉireann. The Rí Rá Bandstand will be hopping all day long with Alfi, Mo Cultivation, Trá Pháidín, The Deadlians and many more providing the tunes. An Tigín, a sort of snug, plays host to the Baltimore Fiddle Fair appearing throughout the day along with Trish Reilly and Thomas McCarthy, Pavee Point Flower Making, The Ruskavellas, Niamh Bury while pop up performances all around the site come from Bang Bike Belfast and Acid Granny.
ONE CITY FESTIVAL PROGRAMME
Thursday 15th – Sunday 18th March
As part of a curated programme of events in collaboration with cultural partners around the city, there will be a diverse offering of St. Patrick’s Festival supported live events throughout Dublin over the period of the Festival. Working with internationally renowned Arts organisations including the Abbey Theatre, CoisCéim Dance Theatre and This Is Pop Baby and featuring walking tours and an after dark programme, the One City Programme is dedicated to showcasing some of the best Irish Arts and Cultural experiences that the country has to offer. The Festival is also teaming up with Guinness Storehouse, The Digital Hub and Dublin City Council for a transformative street art initiative along Thomas Street and Crane Street in the historic Liberties area of Dublin 8, entitled A Better City, more information on which will be announced in the coming weeks.
