The song is accompanied by a music video in which the band host a psychic and tarot 90s-style TV hotline.
‘After This’ is the third single from Dose, and the first written together as a band, with the song helped along with Whatsapp voice notes and the building blocks of th song created remotely and together.
The lyrics written by Lizzie Fitzpatrick, explores “the aftermath of sexual abuse and the way trauma can be misunderstood or dismissed by the communities closest to it. The narrative centres on a woman who, after surviving abuse by a man known to her community, becomes agoraphobic and isolated. “
“I wanted to explore the quiet judgment and whispers that can surround survivors,” Lizzie said.
“She’s seen almost like a clown figure, someone people talk about in hushed tones instead of supporting — ‘ah you know what she’s like, sure she’s stuck to the bed.’ The story isn’t hers alone; it’s told from the outside, by the people around her.”
As the video unfolds, a woman watching the show begins to sense a silent, dark figure outside her window—an eerie contrast to the playful broadcast, blending nostalgia with creeping dread.
Dose are four-piece band featuring Lizzie Fitzpatrick (Bitch Falcon), Australian bassist Lauren Heron (Merpire), synth player and actor Aoife Spratt, and drummer Nicki Meehan.
Dose’s debut EP is due later this year.
Dose have some live gigs upcoming including three nights supporting Throwing Muses:

After This Lyrics
After this, After this
After that,
You know what I want
After this After this
Bruised up thighs
Scrambling on, all the while
Out of Luck, Out of luck
Giving up
They found the girl, up the duff
She’s holding her hands up way too long
How can you see her face it all?
She’s biding her breath now every day
Scrolling past you on her phone
Shaving her legs no just in case
The doctor sees her pantie’s lace
Wouldn’t get caught dead on a plane
Sweet baby bunnies up in flames
After this, After this
After that,
You know what he did
Broken slate, Broken slate
Falling off
The house I built, while he rots
She’s holding her hands up way too long
How can you see her face it all?
She’s biding her breath now every day
Scrolling past you on her phone
Shaving her legs no just in case
The doctor sees her pantie’s lace
Wouldn’t get caught dead on a plane
Sweet baby bunnies up in flames
After this
