The theme of the lecture is on the intersection between hip-hop culture and education and it’s aimed at educators, hip-hop enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to understand hip-hop as more than just commercial rap.
It’s an audio-visual event and attendees will be invited to participate with exercises aimed at exhibiting hip-hop in a way that is engaging, artistic, scientific and culturally relevant.
The Science Gallery said that:
“Jahi uses lyrics from songs to examine complex life narratives of various artists, connecting historical social movements to present day, framing Hip-hop in a pedagogical sense for educators and teachers, and empowering participants to build a holistic musical diet. Hip-hop culture is rich with artistic expression, and Jahi believes that museums and universities around the world provide the perfect environment for this dialogue and experience.”
