ELKIN’s ‘Cut My Tongue’ is a bright harmony-pop based on a femme fatale

Dublin-based duo ELKIN followup their excellent recent single ‘Green Eyes’ today with ‘Cut My Tongue’.

The aforementioned song ‘Green Eyes’ is a sweet-sad pop banger infused with plenty of soul while ‘Cut My Tongue’ isn’t a million miles away from that territory with an R&B-infused bright band harmony-pop sound that was produced by Dan McIntyre (lullahush / Æ MAK) and is in the Ellen and Carla’s words, “our take on the femme fatale figure.”

“She’s perfect on the outside but ready to split your heart in two and keep half for herself,” with the allure of the woman in question like giving yourself a raw tongue after indulging in too many sweets.
