Girls Rock Dublin to launch ‘Gear Library’ service at Pearse Street Library as part of Culture Night

Luke Sharkey

Girls Rock Dublin, the 5-day music summer camp aimed at teenage females and non-binary individuals, has announced the launch of a ‘Gear Library’ service.

This new service aims to make use of the organisation’s stockpile of instruments and equipment when not in use for summer school.

Essentially, any teen registered with a public library card can avail of the service. The stockpile will be available to borrow for a fixed period of time, with the noble aim of providing gear to any and all youths interested in making music – regardless of traditional barriers like income.

The full list of gear is available here.

Girls Rock Dublin will be launching the Gear Library service this Friday in Pearse Street Library. The three-hour workshop (6pm-9pm) will see teenagers take over the library, each learning a song on a given instrument and finishing by performing it with one another.
