Here are the betting odds on the Choice Music Prize this year
It’s been a good few years since any of the bookmakers listed the Choice Music Prize for Irish album of the year as one of their betting options so here’s a bit of novelty.
The 10 shortlisted albums are currently available to bet on at Boylesports at the following odds:
Pillow Queens – In Waiting – 5/4
Fontaines D.C. – A Hero’s Death – 9/4
Denise Chaila – Go Bravely – 5/1
Niamh Regan – Hemet – 7/1
Silverbacks – Fad – 7/1
JyellowL – 2020 DIvision – 10/1
Ailbhe Reddy – Personal History – 11/1
Róisín Murphy – Róisín Machine – 12/1
Nealo – All The Leaves Are Falling – 14/1
Bitch Falcon – Staring at Clocks – 20/1
Pillow Queens and Fontaines are clear favourites but there’s also some nice punts all the way through the field. As we know with the Choice, it can often have a surprising outcome so it’s not always the favourite to win.
If you are thinking about betting, please do so responsibly.
The winner be announced on Thursday 4th March 2021 in a broadcast on RTÉ Player and RTÉ 2FM from 12-3pm on the day.
Speaking of the Choice, next week’s podcast will feature 5 former judges talking about all 10 albums and picking a winner. Maybe. Sort of. You’ll see.
