First Music Contact started a survey last week to measure the impact that COVID-19 is having on the music industry.
The organisation who offer resources to the Irish independent music sector and help acts develop at showcase festivals at home and abroad has expanded its survey to more accurately get a picture of what impact on income the COVID-19 crisis has had on working musicians, DJs, promoters and more.
This will enable them to accurately show how much income is being lost by artists in the current environment and in order to suggest solutions for government, considering that this could go on for months well into June at the moment.
As an example, the German government has offered a €50 million aid package for the nation’s creative industry, includes 6 months of social security for freelancers.
They are asking you to fill it in every week to get an accurate picture.
