Irish R&B artist Melina Malone returns with ‘Lovers Sunday’

Avatar

The Dublin R&B artist Melina Malone is back with some solo music, after recent collaborations with Mango x Mathman (RIP) and Max Zaska.

Following on from 2021’s ‘No Better Place’, Melina’s new song ‘Lovers Sunday’ showcases her honey-dripped voice, on a summery laid-back jam, that is to feature on a forthcoming album.

“Sunday for me has always been a day for love and reciprocity, of healing and rest,” says Melina. “This track embodies all of those feelings for me. It’s sensual, dreamy, woozy. “

“Lovers Sunday tells a story of two twin flames meeting (maybe for the first time, maybe for the 100th) on the Saturday night before, and how they came to be together on Sunday. I wanted to embody the essence of female empowerment, it’s a story of a woman stepping into her power and sensuality, owning that control she has over the other person. Sunday will always be for the lovers ❣️”

The tune drops on DSPs on Friday May 26th.

Melina worked on a debut album over the past year with Irish producers Alex O’Keefe (LYRA, Jafaris, Fia Moon) and Adam Shanahan (Shiv, Bobbi Arlo, Nealo).
