Jeff Mills for special National Concert Hall show

Avatar

Detroit techno legend Jeff Mills has been announced for a special show of his Afrofunk-electro-jazz ensemble Tomorrow Comes The Harvest at the National Concert Hall on Saturday September 23rd this year.

Mills, Jean-Phi Dary and Prabhu Edouard make up the trio called Tomorrow Comes The Harvest, “the accumulative efforts of cross-genre musicians exploring the unknown by intersecting sound and rhythm through an array of improvisational movements.”

It came from a theory initiated and put into action by the late Afrobeat creator and Nigerian drummer Tony Allen and Jeff Mills. Each belonging to a long tradition of using music to reach higher levels of consciousness, along with veteran keyboardist Jean-Phi Dary, the three toured internationally until the untimely death of Tony Allen in 2020. However, the foundation of the concept was cemented and ready for continuation. Mills reconfigures the concept to function as trio once again and invites tabla virtuoso Prabhu Edouard to join for an evening of visionary music.

District 8 and Subject present the show and tickets are on sale Tuesday 14th March at 10am prixed at €44.50 [early bird] & €49.50 [general sale], plus fees from nch.ie
