Kamasi Washington reschedules European shows due to back injury

The American saxophonist has reschedules shows in Europe, including two Irish shows due to a back injury.

Kamasi Washington has reschedules the Guinness Cork Jazz Festival performance and Dublin’s 3Olympia Theatre show this October due to “a serious back injury.”

The new dates take place in April with Cork Opera House on Wednesday April 9th 2025. The Dublin show has been rescheduled to Tue 8th Apr 2025.

Ticket holders can transfer their tickets to the new date or avail of a full refund.

In a statement his agent said, “Due to a serious back injury, Kamasi Washington regrets to announce the postponement of his shows in Europe this Fall to Spring of 2025. All tickets will be honored and we apologize for any inconvenience. Kamasi very much looks forward to performing his new album for his European fans next year. “

The tour is called the Fearless Movement tour and these are the affected dates:

Guinness Cork Jazz Festival yesterday added De La Soul, Moodymann, Todd Terje, Theo Parrish & more.

Guinness Cork Jazz Festival director Mark Murphy added, “It’s unfortunate that Kamasi is unable to perform during the festival, but we look forward to welcoming him next April as we launch the 2025 Guinness Cork Jazz Festival programme. We will announce a replacement act in the coming weeks so please keep an eye on our website and socials so you don’t miss out.”
