THURSDAY 21ST SEPTEMBER

Cassidy Club @ An Spailpín Fánach (8.30pm, €5)
Debut single launch gig for brand-new Cork outfit, kicking off early-ish upstairs in the Spailpín. Support from Elaine Malone.

Lankum @ DeBarra’s, Clonakilty (9pm, €15)
Irish folk explorers play DeBarra’s ahead of their new album’s release as part of Clonakilty Guitar Festival.

FRIDAY 22ND SEPTEMBER – CULTURE NIGHT

The Burma @ MusicZone Douglas (5pm, free)
Indie-pop youngfellas launch their new single with the help of the lads from MusicZone record shop in Douglas. Available for purchase and streaming at the links in the event page above.

Culture Night Music @ Bradley’s Off-Licence (5.30pm, free)
Ahead of appearing at #CorkLovesMusic (below), Cara Kursh, Andy Wilson and The Poor Decisions serenade the customers of Bradley’s offy on North Main Street as part of the street’s wider Culture Night billing.

#CorkLovesMusic @ The Roundy (9pm, free)
Following on from the discussion at Sounds from a Safe Harbour, this edition of CorkLovesMusic centres on community venues and spaces. Speaking: Elaine Howley (The Altered Hours), Tony Langlois (IndieCork Film Festival), Darren Keane (Small Town Disco) and Cara Kursh (The Friary). Performing: Andy Wilson, The Poor Decisions, Sarah-Beth Mullane.

Ten-Ton Slug & The Crawling @ Fred Zeppelin’s (9pm, €5/7)
A bit of a national congress of heft in the red room upstairs on Parliament St.: Galway sludgers Ten-Ton Slug and Belfast lads The Crawling are joined by Cork metallers Zhi Ren and Kerry/Limerick doom-mongers Slung from a Tree.

Mark Reeve @ Cyprus Avenue (11pm, €15)
Cyprus Avenue’s tireless support for electronic music continues with a set from Mark Reeve,  a veteran producer with releases on Cocoon Recordings, Drumcode, Soma, Bek Audio, Traumschallplatten, Trapez, Herzblut and Bedrock among others.

SATURDAY 23RD SEPTEMBER

Arthur Itis @ DeBarra’s, Clonakilty (6pm, free)
The planet Lukon 5’s most foremost popstar deigns to make another earthly appearance at Clonakilty Guitar Festival as part of the Session Trail.

Ganglions @ The Galley, Clonakilty (7pm, free)
Cork/Sheffield math-pop-surf rock trio get to the Guitar Fest ahead of wider touring around Ireland next week.

M.Sea & The 5th Floor @ The Friary (9pm, free)
A double-dose of freak-folk for the biggest little pub in the city. Folk-punkers The Fifth Floor joined by psych-folk wunderkind M.Sea.

QuestionmarQ @ Edison (9pm, free)
Cork house veteran heads to Washington Street to take revellers through his body of work in a free event.

Stephen Murphy @ Cyprus Avenue (11pm, €10)
Cork remix specialist returns to his regular outpost after a successful national run of club dates.

Otherkin @ DeBarra’s, Clonakilty (11.30pm, free)
Dublin pop-rock upstarts head back to Clon for the Guitar Fest.

SUNDAY 24TH SEPTEMBER

Sunday Times! @ The Bowery (3pm, free)
A big all-dayer for the Sunday Times lads that includes Music is My Sanctuary curator Lexis, Rusangano Family beatman mynameisj0hn, County Vinyl and more.

Cuttin’ Heads Collective @ The Vicarstown (4pm, free)
Meanwhile, out the back of the Vic on North Main Street, the resident jocks of the Cuttin’ Heads crew supply beats of all shapes, sizes and weight classes, til closing.

Fixity @ DeBarra’s, Clonakilty (5.30pm, free)
CIGF’s Session Trail ventures into jazzy, experimental territory with a live performance from Dan Walsh and collaborators.
