It may be a couple of months overdue due to vinyl pressing issues but Fulgeance’s Smartbanging EP is finally out on vinyl through One Handed Music. You may have heard this Frenchman on the recent All City 7×7 Beat compilation with the killer ‘Revenge of the Nerds’ tune (below).
2009 is fast becoming defined by these innovative beatmakers for me, people like Paul White (look out for an upcoming Paul White versus the BBC 7″), Bullion, Hudson Mohawke, Onra and Joker. Have a listen to Fulgeance’s superb ‘Ann Arbor’ which takes the digi-crunk of Modeselektor and fuses it with some wonky synths.
