Natalya O’Flaherty speaks of a city in crisis on her poem ‘Dublin Disorder’
The Dublin poet Natalya O’Flaherty has an insightful and prescient poem called ‘Dublin Disorder’ that she performs.
I first heard this during a live stream last year and it stuck with me. It speaks to now – Dublin is dying, culture is vanishing, vulture hotels are taking over, the artists aren’t being paid, the homelessness is everywhere.
The video was shot on location in the Cobblestone.
Natalya O’Flaherty performs as part of Tradfest’s Saíocht at The Pepper Canister Church on Friday January 28th. The event is hosted by Stephen Rea, and features poers O’Flaherty and Sasha Terfous, together with acclaimed Irish traditional musicians, Louise Mulcahy, Michelle Mulcahy and Neil Martin.
