New Albums
Fozsa – Fabric
Dublin-based electronic producer Luke O’Brien is a regular feature here, and his debut album was written over two years between Dublin and Barcelona.
fabric explores themes of memory, belonging, and connection to people and place, reflecting the dizzying sense of displacement felt after moving away from home.
“fabric began in Dublin and followed me as I moved to Barcelona halfway through the writing process. Although not a exactly concept album, the writing process became a way to express the melancholy I felt moving away from friends, family, and home. Through building these songs, It let me to explore my sense of belonging, to both places and people’.
Ciaran Lavery – Light Entertainment
Antrim singer-songwriter Ciaran Lavery’s fifth studio album is an ambitious multimedia experience that features a short film (with an appearance from Daniel O’Donnell) and is billed as an “apocalypse record”.
Guests include Joshua Burnside, Morgana and Liz Lawrence, and the film represents what “Lavery encapsulates on the album: how a constant deluge of information (and misinformation), news, social media, images, video and entertainment leaves us in a perpetually overwhelmed state.”
MF DOOM – MM..FOOD (20th Anniversary Edition)
It’s one of my favourite albums of all-time but really, most of the time there is just no need for reissues.
This 20th year edition, features new artwork by Sam Rodriguez, a bonus 7″ picture disc with the rare original version of “Kookies” and a Just Blaze remix.
Remixes from Madlib, and interview snippets also included.
Ordnance Survey – Biofeedback Suite
Neil O’Connor returns with his Ordnance Survey project, with a scientific experimental concept and makes use of EEG information from brainwaves. Guest collaborators on the record include Iarla O Lionard (vocals) and Colm O Ciosiog (My Bloody Valentine) on Drums.
“Many of the tracks on
this LP incorporate a Brainwave Synthesizer, which along with the use of an EEG Headset, the spectrum waves bands were used to influence on elements of the modular synthesiser’s filters and envelopes training, this process was used as a compositional tool. Further to this, binaural beats were used to entrain certain mental states.”
The album launch happens December 13th at Project Arts Centre with Homebeat.
Warmdüscher – Too Cold To Hold
The London-based sleazy rock band ‘s new album takes inspiration from gqom (a South African take on house music), with nods to dash of hip hop and jazz, alongside the band’s trademark punk-funk and disco rock vibe.
Guests include Irvine Welsh, Lianne La Havas, Janet Planet of Confidence Man, Jeshi and CouCou Chloe.
Denzel Curry – KING OF THE MISCHIEVOUS SOUTH

Albert Karch & Gareth Quinn Redmond – Warszawa
Collaborative album between Irish ambient artist and fiddle player Gareth Quinn Redmond and Polish producer, multi-instrumentalist and sound engineer Albert Karch.
The album’s experimental sessions were inspired by Mark Hollis and Satoshi Ashikawa featuring piano, drums, synthesizers, and strings.
Sal Dulu – Nafuchsia In Fantasy
Irish producer Sal Dulu’s second album of experimental imagination-firing sound design and production.
Virginia rapper Fly Anakin features, and fine art painter John Martin’s fantastical renderings of hell inspired the producer to make “a hellscape”, or at least a fantastical world of sound.
Jerry Fish Feat. May Kay – Dreaming Of Daniel
Irish duo once again collaborating, this time on a full-length record of Daniel Johnston covers.
“This is my first vinyl record in thirty-four years and my first LP in fifteen years. A labour of love, five years in the making. I am very proud of it. It’s a record full of amazingly talented musicians, a fourteen-piece orchestra, a three-piece brass section, backing vocals from some of the best vocal talent in Ireland, praising one of the greatest songwriters of all time. Not alone is his lyrical wit and honesty an inspiration to me and a multitude of artists the world over, we also have so much fun performing his songs live. The album Dreaming of Daniel captures the joy we experience on stage performing Daniel’s songs.”

Irish hip-hop artist KeSTine’s third studio album, produced by Outsider YP ( and featuring contributions from producers Puzzle Beatz, Dionso, and Isiah 22), explores themes of faith, family, and the cycle of life, with particular focus on the bond he has with his aging parents and the loss of his grandmother.
“I’m praying for another season with those I love,” says KeSTine. “The reality of losing people close to you makes you realise how important every second really is. Another Season is about appreciating the present while confronting the fear that time is running out.”
Becky & The Birds – Only Music Makes Me Cry Now
Debut album on 4AD from Swedish songwriter, producer Thea Gustafsson, long in gestation since arriving on 2016. I’m intrigued by this one.

Chubby Cat – THE FINE ART OF DISASSOCIATION EP
Queer Irish alt-pop artist’s new five-track EP.
“TFAOD is a true and full embodiment of everything I have felt emotionally, physically and artistically over the last three years of my life. With every song, vocal, lyric, melody and instrument, there is a raw authenticity. I’m chasing music that’s going to resonate with you, I’m not looking for perfection.”
