Nialler9 Weekly Playlist:

Rejjie Snow – ‘Disco Pantz’ (ft. Tinashe & grouptherapy.)

Banks – ‘The Devil’
Banks is back with her first material since 2019 with a brooding moody Timbaland-esque track that leans into the dark side.
Kojaque – ‘Casio’ feat. Maverick Sabre
Another excellent track and video in advance of Town’s Dead next week.
“After having a frank conversation with one of my good friends, who was going through a really dark time. I was trying to empathise with him through my own experience of depression and suicidal thoughts. The video is meant to signify cheating death, or defying what can feel like your destiny. Mav tied the whole song together beautifully, I was so happy to work with him on it. I directed the video with Spencer Young. I had seen his work before which I thought was really slick. We went back and forth on the concept a lot before coming to the final treatment. I’ve still got that high reflective paint on my skin.”
Wet – ‘On Your Side‘
New York alt-R&B trio drop a lush new song. Yes please.
‘On Your Side’ is about the feeling of embodying unconditional love as a special and fleeting experience. Even though it sounds contradictory, unconditional and fleeting, it’s about that duality. I often find myself in more ambivalent places in relationships and then when it happens it’s epic like planets and trees and rivers and then like that it’s gone again. I think I wanted to capture it as a way of holding onto that feeling. To me a lot of love songs are about capturing that quick moment before it’s gone, there’s a desperation to it.”
Soccer Mommy – ‘Kissing In The Rain’
A new song from the Dark Nights: Death Metal Soundtrack, which is an accompaniment to the comic book and also features HEALTH, Denzel Curry, Mastodon, IDLES, Manchester Orchestra on it.
sir Was – ‘Waiting For The Weekend’

Vince Staples – ‘Law Of Averages’

It really gives much more information about me that wasn’t out there before. That’s why I went with that title. I feel like I’ve been trying to tell the same story. As you go on in life, your point of view changes. This is another take on myself that I might not have had before.
Chósta – ‘Avalanche‘
Conor Kelly aka Chósta‘s electronic productions are inspired by ythe coastal atmosphere around him in Donabate and a four-track EP out July 2nd is preceded by ‘Avalanche’.
