Jorja Smith – falling or flying
English artist known for R&B expands her vision with jazz, soul and funky house, making leaps since the release of her debut album over five years ago. ‘Little Things’
Oneohtrix Point Never – Again
Tenth studio album by American avant-garde electronic producer Daniel Lopatin, under his alias Oneohtrix Point Never. Released on Warp. Bandcamp. Full albim on Youtube.
Cleo Sol – Gold
The Sault vocalist and R&B artist takes a page out of her main band and releases her fourth Inflo-produced album after last week’s release of third, Heaven. Bandcamp. I recommended Heaven on this week’s podcast.
Super Extra Bonus Party – Late Nite 99
The Kildare band release their first album in 14 years, returning with a more guitar band and electronic mixed sound with the band taking full vocals alongside guests Silverbacks’ Emma Hanlon, The SMC and Nina Hynes. Bandcamp.
The band play Dublin this evening, with Cork tomorrow, and Limerick and Galway upcoming.
Jape – Endless Thread
Sixth solo album from Richie Egan, is inspired by solo records of the 1970’s ( Paul McCartney, Judee Sill, Robert Wyatt, John Cale ) with modern studio techniques. It makes for a pensive and bright record. ‘Heal These Wounds’ / Bandcamp.
Jlin – Perspective
Chicago electronic composer and footwork producer enlists Third Coast Percussion Ensemble for an album shortlisted for The 2023 Pulitzer Prize in Music. Out on Planet Mu. Bandcamp.
Modern Nature – No Fixed Point In Space
Third full-length album by Cambreidge songwriter Jack Cooper moves in unfurling improvisational paths. Bandcamp.
Dope Lemon – Kimosabè
Australian indie artist Angus Stone (formerly of Angus & Julia Stone) releases his fourth album Kimosabè. ‘Just You and Me’
Animal Collective – Isn’t It Now?
Their most Animal Collective album yet, staggering from doo-wop and soft rock into disco and psychedelic jazz – everything wrapped up in the aesthetics of ’70s prog, say Boomkat.
Armand Hammer – We Buy Diabetic Test Strips
The New York rap duo of Billy Woods and Elucid tackle inequality, aging and anxiety on their sixth album. ‘Empire BLVD’.
Wilco – Cousin
Thirteenth studio album from American indie rock band is produced by Welsh artist Cat Le Bon.
Cherry Glazerr – I Don’t Want You Anymore
LA shoegazey alt-rock band’s fourth studio album on Secretly Canadian. ‘Ready For You’
The Orb and David Gilmour – Metallic Spheres In Colour
A remixed and reimagined version of their 2010 collaborative album.
Blonde Redhead – Sit Down For Dinner
First album in 9 years from the NewYork indie rockers. Bandcamp.
Picture This – Parked Car Conversations
The fourth studio album from the Kildare pop-rock chart-toppers.
Molly Burch – Daydreamer
Fourth studio album from the Austin artist of synth pop songwriting, produced by Wild Nothing’s Jack Tatum. ‘Physical’
Slow – Pulp Yard

LEISURE – LEISUREVISION
Auckland-leisure infused soul-electronic collective release their experiential fourth album. ‘Park’
Maeve – Hyperbloom
Alt-pop artist with roots in Ireland and the Cayman Islands releases a 7-track debut record. Title track.
Islet – Soft Fascination
Welsh alternative group’s fourth album of experimental rock, psychedelic pop, no wave sounds. Bandcamp.
Brian Eno – Top Boy
Score from “the UK’s answer to the Wire (?)” is released on vinyl.
Sven Wunder – Late Again
The Swedish composer’s latest is “a collection of nocturnal jazz pieces that depict shooting stars and scattered beams from the setting sun, with an emphasis on gentle compositions for piano and orchestral pop-jazz arrangements for flute, brass, and strings.” Bandcamp.
Galvo – The HeARTist
Dublin singer-songwriter’s debut album. Galvo came to music after a period of being homeless and living out of his car, in his twenties, and was formerly in the alt-rock band September Sun who released an album in 2006. Later on, while living in Spain, Galvo rediscovered his love of the acoustic guitar before returning to form the band A Dark Horse, which I featured 11 years ago. His bandmates play with him on his Galvo solo material.
Conor Miley – Thousand Yard Stare
The Irish indie artist Conor Miley debuted with an ambitious and excellent video for the title track with us a while ago.
Joy Orbison – Archive 09-10
A selection of demos, swapped mp3s and vinyl-only releases that have only gained in status and notoriety over the years. Bandcamp.
Oh Land – Loop Soup
Sixth studio album by Danish singer and songwriter.
Dronal – While We Fall
Third album under Alex Leonard’s Dronal project merging his passion for ambient/drone music with that of field recordings. With this release he wanted to investigate the blurred boundaries between the natural world and the one which we have created on top of it. Bandcamp.
HAIM – Days Are Gone (10th Anniversary)
An 8 extra tracks included on the alt-pop trio’s classic debut reissue.
