Remote Town Records is a new record label that will exclusively release music from the county of Wicklow.
The label will focus on electronic music but promises so open-mindedness beyond a genre tag, with releases across digital and physical formats, while podcasts, mixtapes and merch are on the cards too.
Coming soon, will be releases from Automatic Tasty, Patrick Kelleher & his Cold Dead Hands, t-woc, Glen of the Downs (aka Solar Bears’ Rian Trench) but up first, is Damien Lynch, FKA Diamond Dagger / Sarsparilla, who has a long history in making and releasing electronic music.
Damien Lynch EPW-01 is the first release on Remote Town, and fittingly for tracks that are inspired by the county’s hills and mountains, lead track ‘In-flight Delights’ conjures travelling vistas, with melodic elements of Kraftwerk, bubbly arps and spacious percussion.
FYI: The cover design by Manus Sweeney and incorporates the topography of Croaghamoira Mountain.
