Dublin collective Nocturnal Animals are putting on an immersive club experience in The Complex this Saturday

Dublin-based international collective Nocturnal Animals are putting on an immersive club experience in The Complex this Saturday, April 22nd, called Nextus, aiming to offer something more than a club night experience.

Nextus is billing itself as the “Future of Electronic Music”, a lofty goal in which the collective are putting DJs and visual artists on the same level on the night.

Taking place in The Complex Warehouse on Arran St East, the night will feature live visuals from Kev Freeney (who recently performed at AVA London in Printworks with his AI based visuals), Nathanial Wong, Julia Di Trapani, Tim Redfern along with DJ sets from Ste Flynn, Seboro, Deni Sova & more. More info on the artists below.

Nocturnal Animals is a Dublin-based international collective of visual creators, DJs, and music producers, who have put on events at Centre Point, Wigwam, and The Sugar Club. Nocturnal Animals is their biggest event yet.

“Vibrant, intense electronic tunes, lasers and lights transporting the kick of the drum, immersed by futuristic landscapes and ever evolving organisms  – an alternative reality to get lost in and leave everything else outside. Become part of a new era of electronic music events in Dublin.”

The gig takes place from 7pm to 1am this Saturday and tickets are available on Eventbrite priced from €35.

Nathanial Wong is a Creative Coder & Visual Artist from London. He integrates simulation and non-linear dynamics with live control to capture the rhythms and syncopations of the music, all with handwritten processing pipelines. Nat has previously directed events at Vision and Circus in Tokyo, and Electronic Therapy in Dublin.

Julia Di Trapani is a Technical Artist currently working at Google DeepMind. Her work mostly involves 3D design and prototyping for games implemented in AI training. She previously worked at Dimension Studio as VFX artist creating and volumetric content for the entertainment industry.

Tim Redfern is a creative coder based in Ireland. Cutting his software teeth with glitch performances for electronic musicians, he learned electronics and embedded coding, which eventually turned into a day job. Now he meddles with lasers to unwind.
