Nostalgiafest? There’s now a Paddy’s Day party dedicated to 1991
Wigwam on Middle Abbey Street on Paddy’s Day will be a hotbed of sounds and vision from the year 1991.
That’s the premise of this ’90s party Reeling in Your Ears, which they say celebrates “the music of the not so distant past”.
Up first: 1991… Mary Robinson is our president, Dublin is the European Capital of culture and no matter how hard we try, no one can come down from the buzz of Italia 90. The (double cassette) Radio is blasting Nirvana, Salt N Pepa, 2 Unlimited, Roxette, Vanilla Ice, DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince.
It’ll be free in and the suggested playlist on the Facebook event looks like this:
Salt-N-Pepa – Let’s Talk About Sex
Nirvana – Smells like teen spirit
Crystal Waters – Gypsy Woman (La Da Dee)
DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince – Summertime
The Source featuring Candi Staton – You Got The Love
The Prodigy – Charly
Michael Jackson -Black Or White
Metallica – Enter Sandman
