PEOPLE is a festival founded by Aaron and Bryce Dessner of The National, Justin Vernon of Bon Iver and the Michelberger Hotel going into its second year.

It is all about the people, creative people at that with over 160 artists coming to work together in collaboration for a week in residency with the final two days of the gathering allowing the public in to look at the results in Funkhaus in Berlin. It now alternates yearly with Cork’s Sounds From A Safe Harbour.

All of the artists involved are listed by their individual names rather than their bands, and the festival has no timetable, billing or program. It takes place August 18th and 19th and tickets are €120 for a weekend pass.

The festival aims at taking a different view and approach into the process of creating music and collaborating, so that basically involves having a front-row seat at the cusp of creativity.

And to that end, here are the 160 artists who will be participating including a lot of familiar faces like Feist, Lisa Hannigan, Damien Rice (yes, at the same festival), Zach Condon of Beirut, Rusangano Family, Aaron and Bryce Dessners (The National), Ahmed Gallab of Sinkane, Young Fathers, Polica, Slow Moving Clouds, Fionn Regan, Dustin O’Halloran, The Staves, Erland Oye, Greg Saunier (Deerhoof), Parcels, Jenny Lewis, Nick Zinner of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Woodkid and Richard Reed Parry of Arcade Fire also.

Last month, they debuted an online platform featuring music from the artists participating and it includes a lot of music previously unheard like Aaron Dessner and Justin Vernon’s Big Red Machine.

Here’s the full list of who is playing in August:
