Premiere: Mount Alaska showcase sleek new sound on ‘Asterisk’

The Dublin-based electronic duo give us a taste of what’s to come ahead of their Button Factory set.

Mount Alaska are a Dublin-based duo made up of Stephen Shannon & Cillian Mc Donnell. The pair have been hard at work over the last year gigging and working on new material, we’re delighted to premiere their new single ‘Asterisk’ on the site today.

The track marks a sizeable shift in sound for the group, with a greater focus placed on punchy synth chords and dense basslines over the more ambient approach the group’s previous releases have showcased. It’s music with far greater urgency, rushing forward onto the listener and demanding their attention.

The track is taken from an upcoming EP called Askterisk, which hits streaming services on October 19th.

Mount Alaska are supporting Max Cooper in the Button Factory on November 16th. Tickets at €13+ are available here.
