Quarter Block Party announce 2019 festival launch at The Roundy
The fifth edition of Cork springtime arts pillar Quarter Block Party is set to return 8th-10th February 2019, and to launch next year’s programme, the team, comprised of members of Makeshift Ensemble and Southern Hospitality Board, are throwing a party at The Roundy on Friday 14th December.
On the billing are Nialler9-approved pop songwriter Laura Duff, Dublin power-pop project Music City, and Leeside psych-rock laureates Elaine Howley and Cathal MacGabhann (of the Altered Hours, among countless individual side-projects) on the wheels of steel.
Quarter Block Party is a socially engaged, community-focused festival which supports the role of contemporary arts and culture in the urban landscape of Cork City, supporting artists who are socially active, and working collaboratively.
Based across the Historic Quarter of Cork, taking in the city’s old Main Street and its surrounds, the festival presents local, national, and international artists, in venues of all shapes and sizes.
