Second edition of improvised electronic club night Hardware for Belltable Limerick

Cathal Ryan

Limerick-based collective Hardware is set to return with the second instalment of their groundbreaking concept club event following the success of their debut event and recent Tresor showcase.

Taking place on September 7th at Belltable Theatre, this unique event will feature a four-hour improvised collaborative performance by local electronic musicians R.Kitt, Tadhg K, Brawni, and Chaz Moloney.

Hardware is a community-driven initiative that brings together musicians and visual artists in an immersive, improvisational environment. The concept revolves around using hardware instruments, such as modular synthesizers and drum machines, to create spontaneous, live electronic music.

This event will build on the collective’s inaugural showcase in March, which featured a four-hour improv performance with Paddy Mulcahy, Rustal, and local visual artists.

For this edition, the collective has invited an impressive lineup of visual artists—Alt For Jesus, Nancy El Azzi, Ohhi Ohno, Roisin Berg, and RAM—to showcase their work themed around Machina.

These pieces will be displayed in the cafe, providing attendees with a visual experience to complement the music. Additionally, Jack Brolly will curate a specially designed Ambient Lounge, offering a relaxing space for attendees to unwind during the event.

Our core mission is to foster creativity and collaboration within the Limerick electronic music scene.

By placing the audience in the middle of the action, we’re breaking down the barriers between artist and listener, allowing for a deeper connection and a more engaging experience – Chaz Moloney
